Inspire: Your Field Is Before You
“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.” Luke 10:2 NIV
A church near our house has a small, non-descript sign, at their driveway. The sign is facing those leaving, not those coming in.
It simply says, “You’re now entering the mission field.”
I love that!
It’s a reminder to their parishioners that church doesn’t end when the service is over; it begins when you drive away.
It can be our reminder, too.
When we think we are just getting up in the morning…
When we think we are simply running our households…
When we think we are mindlessly going to work…
When we think we are casually meeting with friends…
We are entering God’s fertile field of harvest!
If your routines seem dull; if you feel a lack of purpose, if you wonder where your place is at, if you wonder if anything you do is making a difference—remember the sign.
You are!
Your mission field is all around you!
For it isn’t about going to another continent, it’s about going to another person.
Your field, no matter where you are at in life today, is laid out before you, primed and ready to show others the greatness of Jesus!

Thank you Renae. Maybe we should all have a sign at our door as we leave. I was thinking how we all have welcome signs but you never think about what you should do as you are leaving from somewhere. Wonderful words to think about.
Yes Lori, I agree! Maybe this one will get tucked away in our memory for those times we step out–whether it’s from our house to the world or simply from our bedrooms to our families. Thank you for chatting, blessings to you!
