A Worthy Resolution

“I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.” ~Ephesians 1:17 NIV

New Year
A week ago, we wanted time to slow down so we could hold on to the moments with family and friends for a little while longer.

Now we’re ready to throw off the coverings of the past year and dive right into the next.

Change is in the air, and we’ll make plenty of plans to set our looks, circumstances, and accomplishments in a more positive light.

However, most of us will fail.

Why? I believe our motivations are all wrong.

We’re looking for that great success to help us feel more secure about our future or more comfortable in our skin, but resolutions are typically based on our own power and timing – not God’s.

So, let’s have only one resolution this year – to know God more.

Our health, finances, relationships, and goals can fall into place when we have a clearer picture of the Lord’s plan for our life.

When we see our desires through his eyes, our perspective becomes more real.
Not earthly real, but eternally real.

We are souls constantly searching for lasting joy, peace, and hope, but it won’t be found in smaller pants, or in an organized life.

It’s only found when we meet our Father in the pages of his Holy Word.

So, crack open your Bible, and seek him in prayer. Relinquish your “power”, and do what he says.

Then, I believe we will truly have a Happy New Year!
