Inspire: The Morning Call!
“And the God of all grace…, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.” 1Peter 5:10 NIV
I know very little, if anything, of the sport of Fencing.
Except, perhaps, a term recognized by many of us…
En Garde! (On guard!)
A French term used to signal the beginning of a match.
By definition, it means—a call to adopt a defensive stance; a readiness for an attack.
What better call to start our morning against an enemy who is waiting!
On Guard, Satan! You may be coming at me, but I am ready! I will stand in defense against you!
I will stand in defense of my marriage!
I will stand in defense of my children!
I will stand in defense of my thoughts!
I will stand in defense of my faith!
I will stand in defense of all that I hold dear and all that you want to destroy!
You will not win this duel…you will not win over me!
If we see the enemy for whom and what he is, a destroyer, then we can level the playing field against him.
We have Jesus on our side!
We have the Savior, the Conqueror, the Great I Am, the Alpha, the Omega, the Creator of Time, the Forgiver of Sins, the Morning Star, the King of kings…
We have the Champion!
So, fear not faithful, for when we rise and say En Garde!, we become stronger, readier, and more able than the enemy could ever imagine.
