Inspire: Take Hold

“I am the Lord. I have called you to be right and good. I will hold you by the hand and watch over you.”  Isaiah 42:6

Instinctively, our hands enveloped each other’s. Without a flinch or without a word, we just knew from dozens of times before, each other’s hands needed holding as the prayers were said. Two friends—sitting together, praying together, being together.

Something insignificant can often times be monumental. A touching, a connecting, a bonding—through the simple act of wrapping one hand around the other, of two who are together in faith.

Our Father says He takes our hands.

Our Father says He holds it firm.

Our Father says He guards us.

We are bonded with Him in our faith. He moves instinctively towards us—always—to hold our hands and hold our hearts.

Today, right now, your Father is reaching out to hold your hand. A simple, yet monumental, sign of love. His hands are a promise. A promise that holds every life giving possibility there is.

His hands are strong, they are open, and they are scarred—for you.

Take hold.
