A Parent’s Letter
Dear child,
From the moment of your birth, your Father and I have loved you deeper than any other love possible. In fact, before you were even here, we loved you. We couldn’t wait for your arrival into this world and all that lay ahead of you. The world is a better place simply because you are in it.
Your Father and I want to tell you how incredibly proud we are of you. For all your accomplishments and all you do, you make us proud each and every day. Life is not easy, nor will it ever be, but rest on what we have taught you and make the most of it. Each time you do for others, we grin from ear to ear. Your character has made you noble and your actions prove your heart.
We know you need to be your own person. We know you need to find your own way. And we know at times, that way will lead you down dark paths. But don’t worry. We are here for you. No matter where you go or what you do, we will be here. Our love cannot be shaken—no matter what. Just know we will do anything for you…anything! Just ask.
And when life gets too confusing, and too difficult to bear, hold on…better days are coming. We promise. We have been through it all before you and although life seems like an endless pit of disappointment, it isn’t. There will be times of great joy in the midst of sadness and trouble; hold on. You will persevere! And in that perseverance, rewards will come. Stand true!
Never lose your faith. Faith is what will sustain you. In those difficult times, and in the times of routine, faith in your Creator will be your safe haven. Turn to Him every moment you can, so when trials come you will have a solid foundation to stand on.
Dream. Dream big and do your best to reach it. Not in the sense of unrealistic ideas, but in the discipline of “doing.” Don’t just sit back and give up. Do. Be. Pursue. Reach out to live your life. We wish we had the ability to give you endless days, but we don’t. Each day is a gift—accept that gift. Use that gift. Don’t squander the gift in useless actions.
Oh precious one, our desire is for you to see how incredibly special you are. As unique as a star in the sky. You are on earth for a reason and each day we long for you to live knowing that. Never doubt your significance! You have a purpose. And in that purpose, your light will always shine bright.
We love you. We know it’s difficult to stay in touch, but do your best, will you? We just love hearing from you and it keeps us closer when you do. We have so much to share with you, too!
Your Father sends his love. So do I. We are both looking forward to us all being together real soon. I can’t wait to hold you again in my arms and make all your problems go away. I know it seems odd for you to hear that, but only the arms of a parent can truly hold their child.
Be well dear one. Hold fast to the words we wrote and bring them to life. And if you missed those words…remember–We love you. We love you. We love you. NEVER forget that!
Xoxoxo
