Inspire: You Can’t Change The World–but…

“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.” Matthew 5:14 NIV

In the presence of so much destruction, so much evil, and so much turmoil, anxiety abounds.

When answers don’t come, platitudes take their place—

Be a world changer.

Make it a better place.

We can make a difference.

Yet, it doesn’t happen.

May I remind you, not even the Son of Man could do this.

Jesus walked this earth during a pretty horrific time—and evil still existed.

If anyone could have changed the bad into the good, forever, Jesus could.

It still exists.

My friends, our Lord didn’t tell us to change the world, He told us to be a light IN the world.

He knew of the world’s darkness.

He knew there wouldn’t be a reprieve.

He knew things would get worse before they will ever get better.

And He wants us to take our rightful place in the middle of it—to be a light to those who focus on the darkness.

There is Hope in Jesus!

There is Life in Jesus!

There is Light in Jesus!

It is up to us to let the world know this—for we aren’t called to change the world; we are called to be shining within the world…because of Him.

Let your light shine!

Once again, truly good insight. I, for one, wish that things could be simpler and that goodness and kindness would prevail. I know that each one of us has to do our part and hope that it will inspire others to follow suit. Big task! But, through Him, all things are possible. Keep up the good work. Hopefully your reminders every Thursday can impact more of us to do our part and thus impact more and more. Thanks.

    1. Thank you Carlotta! I wish for all of that, too. Wouldn’t it be great? But until He makes all things new, His light through our lives is what the world is desperately seeking for and most don’t even know it. I’m glad the words of our site Inspire and refresh you. Blessings to you!!

Oh Renae I really like that one. So many people think that they can change the world and if they don’t they get mad at the world. Those words that you wrote today are so true. I wish every single person could read them and really listen to them. Thank you for writing them. Let us all try to be that light today and every day. God bless you.

    1. Thank you Lori! I, too, wish every single person would see the words…His Words! wink wink. Yes, our light needs to shine–brightly, if we could all try! Blessings to you, too.
